Hercules belonging to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI-AU) from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force transported six tons of medical devices (alkes) and personal protective equipment (APD) owned by the Yahukimo Regency Government (Pemkab), Papua, landed at Nop Goliat Dekai Airport on Thursday (6/19/2020).

Once the Air Force's Hercules landed at No Goliat Dekai Airport, airport officials were seen unloading the medical devices. The Regent of Yahukimo, Abock Busup, said that the aircraft was the first flight out of five flights prepared by the District Government of Yahukimo to carry 18 tons of medical devices and PPE.

"The medical device has only been entered once, there are still two flights tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow will enter Yahukimo again. That brings us to spend masks, hand sanitizers, kid's rapid tests, nurses' clothing, shoes, and 4 four machines for breathing, it goes to Yahukimo, "explained the Regent.

According to him, the rapid test was used to test around 15 thousand Yahukimo residents consisting of civil servants within the Yahukimo Government and the general public.

"The first aircraft had brought in six tons of it, from 18 tons. "Five times (flights) will be loaded later," said Regent Abock Busup.

The Regent explained that the medical devices and four respiratory machines that had been spent were anticipated even though Yahukimo was part of the Covid-19 pandemic green area.

"Medical devices spent by the government will be distributed to health workers consisting of nurses and doctors. While masks are included for the general public. The four breathing machines that we prepare for people who have Corona virus. Preparation is necessary, because when Covid-19 ends, we don't know yet, so the regional government has prepared it far in advance. So, as soon as the Covid case happened, we immediately handled it because it was anticipated. Because this medical device can be very difficult, especially in Yahukimo, the area of ​​expansion, doctors are limited, paramedics are also limited, and tools are limited. So even though the area is green but we are really careful, ”explained the Regent of Abock Busup.
