Disdukcapil Biak is ready to serve Digital KTP

The Department of Population and Civil Registration or Disdukcapil of Biak Numfor Regency, Papua has made digital identity cards (KTP) as population documents.

"Digital ID cards will be intensified by the government to anticipate the loss of important documents because with this digital identity card, population documents will not need to be printed or stored in a wallet," said Acting Head of the Biak Numfor Population and Civil Registration Service, Mahasunu regarding the making of digital ID cards in Biak, Monday (26 /12/2022).

Mahasunu admitted, for making a digital ID card according to the stipulation of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) stated that there were conditions that had to be met for making a digital ID card.

This requirement, according to Mahasunu, supports the community in making digital KTPs.

Mahasunu said digital ID cards would later be carried out in stages for residents who do not have cellphones or an internet connection, the Disdukcapil would continue to serve residents throughout Biak Numfor Regency.

"Disdukcapil will continue to provide digital identity creation services in stages," said Acting Head of the Biak Mahasunu Population and Civil Registration Service.

Those who don't have cellphones, continued Mahasunu, don't have a network yet, we will still serve them in physical form and manual services like today.
 
In order to popularize the use of digital ID cards, according to Mahasunu, the Disdukcapil Biak Numfor intensified outreach to the public and other stakeholders.

"We, the Disdukcapil of Biak Numfor, have made digital KTPs available," said Mahasunu, who also served as Assistant 1 to the Biak Numfor regional secretary.

Mahasunu admitted, with a digital ID card, residents can quickly use it because it is stored on their cell phones and easy to carry around.

"Yes, this is a new way to get digital KTPs for Biak Numfor residents," said the former Inspectorate of Biak Numfor.

He hopes that in early 2023 all digital KTP applications can be processed by residents who need them.
