The General Election Commission (KPU) of Yalimo Regency, Papua Province confirmed that the two regional head candidates there carried out the election stages according to the health protocol (prokes).
The Technical Division at the KPU Yalimo, Hestevina Kawer by telephone, from Wamena, said that apart from wearing masks and maintaining distance when attending stages, so far candidates have complied with the ban on campaigns involving large crowds.
"Due to the pandemic situation, only limited meetings and closed meetings were held. So the busy campaign was abolished. The campaign stages which are limited to meetings by each candidate have proceeded according to the procedures set by the KPU," he said.
So that the plague does not attack more residents, in the stages of the elections, the KPU always implements measures to prevent the spread.
"Each stage must maintain a distance to prevent COVID-19, including wearing a mask and that is mandatory," he said.
He ensured that at the stages during the Corona pandemic, the number of participants invited to the activities was no longer large.
"And at the KPPS recruitment stage, we also treat the requirements issued by the KPU, for example, applying health protocols. So KPPS has to do a quick test," he said.
He ensured that the regional head elections that were followed by the two candidates in Yalimo would run smoothly and conducively. KPU expects continued public support to realize the people's party in a safe and peaceful manner.
