The Papua Provincial Government hands over 878 aid packages for Jayapura residents

The Provincial Government of Papua through the COVID-19 Economic Impact Management Sub-Team Papua submitted 878 social assistance packages to residents affected by a new type of corona virus (COVID-19) in Jayapura on Thursday.

Submission of assistance by the head of the sub-team, Sudirman Manik was initiated at the Papua PHRI Secretariat in Entrop with the head of the organization, Syahrir Hasan.

Sudirman Manik said 878 aid packages were for pandemic affected residents in three locations. For PHRI Papua handed over 690 packages, 73 motorcycle packages for Polimak motorcycle base, and the remaining 115 Padang Bulan motorcycle taxi stations.

Each package containing 20 kilograms of rice, instant noodles, flour, and fish in cans, to help the community affected by COVID-19. He said the handover was in accordance with its designation, where the beneficiary was based on the name and address for which the team had received data.

The Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua through the team will endeavor to provide assistance to pandemic affected residents to ease their burden during the policy of limiting the activities of residents outside the home, due to the corona virus pandemic.

It prioritizes the delivery of aid to those who have been recorded in advance. To date, the total aid that has been delivered has been recorded at 2,122 packages.

Papua PHRI Chairperson Syahrir Hasan expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the Papua Provincial Government through the Papua COVID-19 Economic Impact Management Sub Team.

The assistance, he said, will be given to hotel and restaurant employees in need, especially those laid off and laid off, due to the impact of the pandemic.

"At present, around 2,000 employees in the PHRI Papua environment have been laid off due to COVID-19," he said.
