| 3 Jayawijaya District Free 3 Months Electricity |
Three districts in Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Province began to be connected to the electricity network provided by PT PLN. Wamena Area PLN Head Robert Mofu said the number of customers in Jayawijaya would increase after the network was connected to districts where PLN had not previously had electricity.
"For example, in Wollo District, Bugi, Bolakme, the network has already entered, already around 90 percent, just a little completion," he said.
He acknowledged the obstacle encountered in the field was that some people were unable to finance the electricity connection from the main network to their homes.
"We have corresponded to the regent, to the village head for the village funds can be used to pay, because unfortunately the electricity has reached the district but the community can not pay connection," he said.
Robert reminded that if the connection fee had been done, it had been eaten within a period of one or two days that the residents had enjoyed the PLN lighting. "So if for example it is paid today, tomorrow it will be connected, moreover electricity has already entered the districts," he said.
Previously PLN Wamena also provided free electricity and discounts for 1,060 customers in the region for three months. This program is an effort by the government to help people who are facing the Corona virus outbreak.
