The Papuan provincial government and districts/cities are asked to socialize the 2022 Papuan sons and daughters scholarship program. The goal is to attract a lot of interest from Papuan sons and daughters to participate in the scholarship program from the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP).
This was conveyed by the Director of Scholarships for the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) Dwi Larso after a meeting with Assistant I of the Papua Regional Secretariat, Doren Wakerkwa and his staff in Jayapura, Wednesday (16/3/2022).
Dwi Larso said that the Papuan scholarship program was only held this year. In this program, scholarship applicants are not subject to GPA and TOEFL requirements.
“This program provides relaxation for registrants. For the time of registration itself has been opened in February and will be reopened in July, "he explained.
Regarding the quota, he said it would depend on the budget. Because the LPDP budget moves all the time. However, he hopes to receive as many Papuan sons and daughters as possible in this program.
"In 2021, there were 356 recipients of postgraduate and doctoral scholarships from Papua, both at home and abroad. Hopefully this year the number of scholarship recipients from Papua will increase,” he added.
He also said that the LPDP scholarship in the 2022 Papuan children's program covers the education and living costs of the scholarship recipients. With details, for masters with a maximum funding duration of 24 months and doctorates with a maximum study duration of 48 months.
“When we sent the scholarship recipients, the funds were already reserved until it was completed for the master's degree for two years and the doctorate for four years. Hopefully they will finish this year. If it is not completed, they can ask for an extension but with independent funds," he said.
