Deputy V of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Jaleswari Pramodhawardani condemned the brutal actions of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua. KKB is suspected of having killed PT Palapa Ring Timur Telematics (PTT) officers while repairing Telkomsel's Tower Base Transceiver Station (BTS) 3 in Kago Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Papua.
Jaleswari noted that there were seven brutal KKB acts throughout 2022 in Papua that killed 18 TNI soldiers and civilians. A total of 13 victims of them died, while five others were injured.
"I condemn the crime allegedly committed by the KKB in Puncak Regency, Papua. All victims are carrying out their duties to facilitate access to public communication," Jaleswari said through her official statement, Sunday (6/3/2022).
"This work actually supports the welfare of the community through increasing access to communication and connectivity. This access to communication will facilitate the education, health and economic activities of the citizens, which should be supported," he added.
On this occasion, Jaleswari representing the Palace expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims of the KKB brutal action in Puncak Papua. The victims, said Jaleswari, were killed while carrying out their duties to repair the communication network in the Puncak Regency area.
"The officers have actually fought for the unity and integrity of our nation by maintaining the connectivity network. I request that the relevant officials carry out strict, thorough and proportional law enforcement for these crimes," he said.
For your information, the government has planned to build 4,200 units of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) infrastructure in Papua and West Papua by 2021. More than 60 percent of the points that have been built are in Papua and West Papua.
With the construction of the telecommunications infrastructure, the government hopes that the people of Papua and West Papua can enjoy the 4G telecommunications network. "Connectivity is one of the important pillars in building prosperity in the Land of Papua, this crime is detrimental to all parties," said Jaleswari.
The government's commitment to infrastructure development in the 3T (Outermost, Disadvantaged, Frontier) regions, explained Jaleswari, is clearly stated in the government's 2022 work plan. In which, the government plans to build broadband infrastructure in 2022 with a target to cover a network of 8,226 villages in the 3T region. .
"In the future, the Central and Regional Governments as well as all elements of the apparatus will continue to work together and collaborate with Indigenous Leaders and the people of the Land of Papua to provide maximum protection for all citizens of the Land of Papua," he concluded.
