The Provincial Executive for the Amateur Boxing Association (Pertina) of Papua is not playing games in preparing his team for the XX National Sports Week (PON) event, next October.
In order to achieve their ambition to win the PON XX gold medal, Pertina Papua will bring in coaches from Eastern Europe.
This step was decided by the Head of the Papua Provincial Office of Pertina, Ricky Ham Pagawak (RHP), following the failure of the Papuan boxers in the selection of the National Training Center in Jakarta, some time ago.
"We Pertina have accommodated a lot of thoughts that we have prepared and we will convey it to PB PON and also KONI Papua, so we hope both of them respond seriously and do not let us lose in PON XX later," said Ham Pagawak.
"We are ready, we are also preparing the coach from Eastern Europe who we will bring in, hopefully in the remaining few months we can prepare our boxers," he continued.
To get qualified trainers from Eastern Europe, Pertina Papua even asked for help from Central Pertina. Regarding payment, it is not a problem for Pertina Papua.
"So we ask for direct support from Pertina Pusat to help find a coach, if it matches the price, it will be paid in dollars. Pay may not be a problem, the important thing is that he has to come to contribute to the revival of boxing in Papua, "he stressed.
