"To optimize voter participation, COVID-19 patients are given their voting rights, so they don't lose it. So they have the right to vote on December 9, 2020, "Hilmie explained

Hilmie also said that Bawaslu at the meeting also ensured that the voting rights of COVID-19 patients or residents who were sick due to other diseases were still distributed.

Regarding the special TPS, Hilmie said, his party suggested that it be prepared in hospitals that treat COVID-19 patients, such as Manokwari, TPS specifically for COVID-19 patients to be prepared at the West Papua Provincial Hospital, Manokwari Regional Hospital and the dr Azhar Zahir Hospital of the Navy.

In addition, Hilmie said, to keep voter participation high, West Papua Bawaslu will monitor the promises of the district and provincial KPUs, to ensure that COVID-19 patients, both those in centralized quarantine and self-quarantine facilities, will continue to vote.

"However, back to their respective KPU policies, they have that authority. The West Papua Bawaslu is targeting voter turnout in 9 districts in the 2020 regional elections, an estimate of 60-68 percent so that the chosen candidates are legitimate, "Hilmie explained.
