The Jayapura Regency Government (Pemkab) through the local Communication and Information Office (Kominfo) said that as many as 3,409 Transceiver Stations (BTS) will be built in Papua.
Head of the Jayapura Regency Communications and Information Office, Gustaf Griapon in Jayapura, Wednesday, said that the construction of thousands of BTS will be carried out by Telkomsel through the Communications and Information Technology's Social Information and Telecommunications Accessibility Agency (BAKTI).
"Now a survey has been carried out at all points of BTS construction," he told Antara via cell phone.
According to Gustaf, the construction of BTS in Papua is to support the telecommunications infrastructure in Cenderawasih Earth.
"This year is also targeted to be completed all because it is the government's target," he said.
He explained that in Jayapura Regency alone there are 121 points where BTS will be built.
"At all points, a survey has also been carried out by Telkomsel," he said again.
He added that the construction of BTS in Papua is a government subsidy system for the distribution of telecommunication networks in Indonesia's easternmost province.
"So it is hoped that support from all parties for better infrastructure development," he said again.
