| Thousands of Corona Virus Test Tool Has been Ordered in Papua |
The Papua Provincial Health Service proposes procuring 5,000 new corona virus rapid tests or Covid-19, because the rapid test tool is believed to accelerate the process of preventing the spread of the corona virus in Papua.
"For Papua has been ordered, our request is 5,000, and to arrive in Jayapura the authority of the ministry, so we have ordered," said Secretary of the Papua Health Office Silwanus Sumule in Jayapura, Sunday (3/23/2020) night.
According to Silwanus, the procurement of rapid test equipment was urgent because the discovery of a positive case of Covid-19 in Merauke Regency. Rapid test tool is believed to accelerate the process of preventing the spread of the corona virus in Papua, because the results come out faster.
"With two positives we must immediately, and we hope the ministry can provide that," he said.
Meanwhile, the supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) in Papua Province has also been reduced. Previously, there were 250 PPE in Papua Province. Now, there are only 70 PPE left. The Papua Health Office also tried to increase the PPE stock.
"And we hope that there will be 25 more coming tomorrow. We are again struggling to get 5,000, but we must ask gradually, not immediately at once," Silwanus said.
Until Sunday (3/22/2020), there were two positive cases of Covid-19 in Papua. The two patients were treated at Merauke Regional Hospital. One of them, is a health worker who has been in contact with other positive patients Covid-19.
Papua Province noted, as many as 11 patients under surveillance (PDP) and 478 people in monitoring (ODP) corona virus until Sunday (3/23/2020).
