| The Son of Papua is Indonesia's Pride |
AYIMUN is an International Simulation Conference held in selected countries. This conference presents young people from all over the world who are interested in discussing international problems and jointly looking for solutions.

AYIMUN was held in Putrajaya, Malaysia on the 25th to 28th of August 2019. The event was attended by more than 1,500 participants from dozens of countries throughout the world.

Kodam XVII / Cenderawasih is very concerned with the development of youth character in Papua directly providing support to youth from Papua accommodation. Rick Steve Elson Mara is currently studying the Masters Program in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, Faculty of National Security, Indonesian Defense University.

Kodam XVII / Cenderawasih sees Steve Mara as a youth figure who has the potential to become a future leader in Indonesia. Steve is a young man who has a big vision for Indonesia's development in the future, a person who does not think of the youth sector but has broad horizons of thought.

In AYIMUN's activities in 2019, Steve joined the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) with the allocation of the country being the Republic of Rwanda.

"I am proud to be part of this International Conference, a Model of the United Nations that I joined after I first used it to participate in Tangerang, the UN Model Climate Change Conference," Steve Mara said.

At the International Conference in Malaysia, Steve Mara made a position paper focusing on education as a key for developing countries to increase resistance to young people.

"If the level of education in a country is low or not the main focus of the government, it has been confirmed that the region or country will be a crisis on all fronts."

At the conference, Steve had the opportunity two (2) times to speak at a forum on the General Speakers List and once moved about the root of the problem in each country and Steve delivered about the Development of Information and Technology for youth resilience.

He said he was proud of his birth as a Papuan. The hope of the nation is now in the hands of young people. Youth is not only the backbone but youth is the breath of the future of the country.

"Let us put in-depth solidarity coupled with narrow regionalism, fragmented ethnic groups or small groups. But let us emphasize national solidarity as the young generation of the Republic of Indonesia in an insoluble unity," he concluded.
