Trauma of KKSB Violence, 699 Banti-Kimbeli residents were also evacuated to Timika

Timika - Hundreds of residents of Kampung Banti and Kampung Kimbeli were evacuated to Timika. The evacuation was related to the attack of Tembagapura Sector Police patrol car by KKSB (armed separatism criminal group).
They arrived in Timika on Saturday (7/30) at 01.00 CET. The victims said they were afraid and worried about the KKSB violence in Tembagapura Area. It is known, after the attack on patrol cars and Tembagapura Sector Police, KKSB continued to carry out attacks on the authorities.

Dandim 1710 Mimika Lt. Col. Inf Pio L Nainggolan said the second evacuation from the Tembagapura area numbered 699 residents, including mothers and children. These refugees will be sent back to relatives in Timika, such as Kwamki Narama and several areas in Timika.

"So the initial evacuation there are 258 residents, this is the second evacuation, maybe tomorrow there will be more," said the Dandim when met at the data collection location in the Timika Kaveleri Detachment Mako, Papua, Friday (03/07/2020).

The Commander added they were transported using Freeport's transportation. In total there are 9 buses.

Previously, as many as 258 residents of Kampung Banti and Kampung Opitawak asked the TNI-Polri apparatus to evacuate them to Timika. Residents were worried after the KKSB attacked a Tembagapura police patrol car a few days ago.
