Willing to Not Pay Salary, Papua's Original Daughter Willing to Teach Wamena Inland Koran Residents, Finally Get Free Umrah

Aminatus Sadiyah, a native Papuan, originally from the Baliem Valley, Wosilimo Village, Wamena, Papua, was determined to continue preaching.

Even though he was not paid, he never complained, still in the spirit of teaching local mothers and children to recite the Koran.

The spirit of Muslim women who are members of the Indonesian Red Crescent (BSMI) in Jayawijaya Papua did not relax even though she was pregnant at the time.

Likewise after the baby was born into the world, Sadiyah has never changed. He remained present to preach to local Muslims.

Every week, mothers and children there are taught to recite and read. All Sadiyah did, despite their busy continuing education in Wamena.

In fact, he did not hesitate to take the mothers to return to the honai (typical Balinese house) even though the distance was no joke.

Thankfully, the extraordinary struggle of this formidable Muslim woman from the Baliem Valley was sweet.

BSMI in collaboration with related parties, provides dedication to Sadiyah, in the form of free Umrah trips.

"Thank God, he was chosen for free pilgrimage," so tweeted in the Official Twitter account, @BsmiJayawijaya, as quoted by Ngelmu, Friday (7/2).

The story that increasingly seized the public's attention, reached the ears of Papuan leaders, Christ Wamea.

Calling him an inspirational figure, Christ appreciates Sadiyah's devotion and also offers prayers, both for Sadiyah, and for the land of Papua.

"May Aminatus Sadiyah be an inspiration for other Papuan women in the Baliem Valley," Christ said through her personal Twitter account @ ChristWamea.

"Resilient Muslim women from the land of Papua. Hijab is worship. Hopefully be a good preacher and be a blessing for the land of Papua. Papua is Indonesia, "he said. (iys)
