Ministry of Home Affairs: Papua New Guinea, social justice for all Indonesian people



The Ministry of Home Affairs conveyed the expansion of the New Autonomous Region (DOB) of Papua to realize social justice for all Indonesian people, especially those on Earth of Cenderawasih.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, John Wempi Watipo, at a press conference in Jayapura, Papua, Tuesday, said that during his visit to Nabire Regency, they met face-to-face with the regent and Forkopimda along with community, religious and customary leaders throughout the Central Papua region.

"We invite those who refuse and are pessimistic, let's join and unite, it's time to unite to build the welfare of the Papuan people," he said.
 
According to him, on that occasion there was also the signing of a statement letter of borrowing and granting funds, ASN by the regents of the customary territory of Mepagoo or Central Papua to the central government, as well as the handing over of customary land rights, handing over the assets of the house of the acting governor, Papua regional secretary and supporting offices.

"It is the responsibility of the regents to embrace the community in developing the province of Central Papua properly," he said.

He explained that besides that, all parties are also tasked with convincing the government that the state provides opportunities for the Papuan people to develop their own people.
 
"Because the three new autonomous regions will become pilot projects in development, so this is a privilege for Papuans," he said.
 
There are eight districts in Central Papua Province, namely Nabire, Paniai, Mimika, Puncak Jaya, Puncak, Dogiyai, Intan Jaya, and Deiyai.
