The West Papua People's Alliance came to the West Papua DPRD office to convey their aspirations regarding the sustainability of Otsus. In this peaceful action, the West Papua People's Alliance requested that the autonomy program be sustainable in Papua.
The chairman of the West Papua Community Alliance, Anton Worabai, said that from 2001 to 2021 the Indonesian government had shown its concern for Papua, by granting a Special Autonomous Zone Zone. Many successes have been made with Otsus, such as the construction of hospitals, schools (education) and infrastructure. "Therefore, we from the West Papua People's Alliance are grateful to the Indonesian government," he explained.
He added that the arrival of the West Papua People's Alliance wanted to meet with the Leadership of the West Papua DPR to convey their aspirations and provide a statement of attitude from the alliance to the Chairman of the West Papua DPR.
As for the statement of attitude that we would like to convey, the leadership elements will immediately follow up and form the Special Autonomy Revision Special Committee. The chairman of the Special Autonomy Faction, George K. Dedaida, was present to meet them.
Dedaida said that the aspirations regarding Otsus need to be followed up, the sustainability of Otsus must continue regardless of the reasons. "Even though there are shortcomings we will continue to evaluate and improve, not stop it. Because the Chairman of the West Papua DPR is in a meeting elsewhere, so I was asked by the Speaker of the DPR to represent him to meet and respond to the aspirations of the West Papua People's Alliance," concluded Dedaida.
