South Sulawesi PON athletes are scheduled to be vaccinated after Ramadan

 


South Sulawesi athletes and coaches who focus on preparing for the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) are scheduled to undergo Covid-19 vaccination after Ramadan 2021. Deputy Chairman I of the South Sulawesi PON Task Force Prof. Musakkir in his statement in Makassar, Tuesday (23/2), said the Chairman The XX / 2021 South Sulawesi PON Task Force will coordinate with the Head of the South Sulawesi Health Office for the implementation of the vaccination.

All athletes and coaches must undergo vaccinations. The South Sulawesi contingent that will participate in PON XX / 2021 Papua ranges from 300 people, including 196 athletes, 53 coaches, seven assistant coaches, and 10 mechanics.

South Sulawesi PON Task Force Public Relations Officer Amson Padolo said vaccination for PON athletes is a program of the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI). The Head of South Sulawesi Kominfo explained that his party continues to coordinate with related parties to ensure the schedule of vaccination for South Sulawesi athletes.

"So we are waiting for technical guidance from the center regarding the implementation of athlete vaccination. Moreover, the vaccination program is also being carried out in other provinces," he said.

Before vaccination, KONI Sulsel will again carry out tests on all athletes who have passed the PON for three days, March 9-11, 2021.
