Dozens of community members representing the Tabi and Seireri customary territories held a demonstration in support of special autonomy (Otsus) in front of the lobby of the Sunni Leke Garden Sentani Hotel, Jayapura Regency, Papua.
The demonstration, which was coordinated by Ondofolo Doyo Lama Sentani, Baskuliboi, demanded that the Papuan People's Assembly (MRP), which was holding a meeting at this hotel, would listen to their aspirations to represent the Tabi and Seireri indigenous people.
In his oration, Ondofolo Baskuliboi asked the MRP to accommodate their aspirations and not listen unilaterally about the sustainability of the Papua Special Autonomy.
"The MRP as a cultural institution must listen to the aspirations of all the people, not only one-sidedly or listen to certain people. We want Otsus to be continued," said Onfofolo.
Ondofolo also emphasized the importance of a thorough examination of the early stages of Otsus implementation. Anyone who commits fraud must be dealt with firmly in accordance with the applicable law.
"This special autonomy is corrupted by political elites and the number is trillions. So it must be audited and enforce the applicable law," he said.
He added, for the next stage of Otsus, a technical revision of its distribution is needed. "These trillions of Special Autonomy funds go to Papua and West Papua. So if later the distribution is still like this, only certain groups will enjoy it. Meanwhile, our rural residents do not receive anything. Therefore, it is better if the Special Autonomy fund is made like Direct Cash Assistance ( BLT) channeled by the central government, "he suggested.
According to Ondofolo, by using BPS data, the special autonomy funds could be channeled a certain percentage of directly to the community. "So that the people feel, and what other percentage is for infrastructure, education and health," he said.
In addition, in conducting RDPU and RDPW MRP, do not be selfish. Otsus exists for the people. "Poor us, where are the people who are struggling with special autonomy funds? Help us, "he said.
