Jayawijaya Regency Government Guarantees No Lebaran Mudik Activities in Its Region |
The Government of Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Province has ensured that there is no Lebaran homecoming activity in its area because all access roads have been closed.
Head of Jayawijaya Land Transportation Office, Pardomuan Harahap, said that the only reliable homecoming access that had been relied upon had been closed by the government as an effort to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
"We Wamena use air transportation, while all flights are closed so there is no flow back and forth, and I think the same as other regions," he said.
Pardomuan said Jayawijaya was connected to the trans-Papua route but the access had not been utilized for going home.
"While this land route has no effect because we are here when going home by air," he said.
Activities at the passenger airport in Jayawijaya were also not opened because until now passenger flights are still closed.
The Jayawijaya government only allows cargo aircraft operating at Wamena Airport. Even cargo flights are dispensed to operate from morning to evening, while public activities are only open at 6 am to 2 pm.
