The request for the dismissal of the Papua Police Chief and the Merauke Police Chief is Wrong

The request for the removal of the Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Paulus Waterpauw and the Merauke Police Chief AKBP Untung Sangaji were judged to be false, superficial and very baseless by the Chairperson of the DPW Advocacy Agency for the Investigation of Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia (BAIN HAM RI), Papua Province Ali Kabiay.

I think the request for removal is very wrong and baseless, when an advocate asked the President to remove two Police Officers, very irrelevant, very wrong, very baseless, and impressed emotional, advocates should be police partners in the law enforcement system, not even backfired, "said Ali Kabiay.

In his statement, Ali Kabiay said that the MRP Hearing Meeting (RDP) should purely guard the aspirations of the people regarding the implementation of Special Autonomy (Otsus) in Papua, not that the MRP should carry the aspirations and interests of certain separatist groups or sponsors.

It was said, what the Merauke Police Chief was doing was very appropriate, because when the Police conducted a search at Hotel Valentine, Merauke, there was an RDP participant from Mappi Regency who was caught carrying a yellow document book which is the guideline for the Federal Republic of West Papua (NRFPB), the book instead it contains all state guidelines including the basis of the country, currency, and so on.

"This is very unethical, as long as there is a state within the state, the MRP and RDP team should obey the Papua Police Chief's Declaration, and I think this declaration is clear for the benefit of the people in Papua, including maintaining health protocols and avoiding activities that are related to separatists, "Explained Ali Kabiay.

As a native Papuan child, and a young Papuan leader, he said, he supports and appreciates what the Head of Merauke Police, AKBP Untung Sangaji, is doing. Therefore, he also hopes that the request to dismiss the Papua Regional Police and the Merauke Police Chief will not be ignored by the President and the central government.

"Because the request is not basic, superficial and seems ridiculous, please just play a soap opera or play a play in a political parody of an independent Papua, Papua to this day is an integral part of the Republic of Indonesia and is final," said Ali Kabiay.

Previously, Yan Christian Warinussy, an advocate and human rights defender in Manokwari, West Papua Province, urged President Joko Widodo to remove the Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol Paulus Waterpauw and the Merauke Police Chief AKBP Untung Sangaji for acting arbitrarily in securing the MRP RDP in Merauke. .
