Community leaders are also in line with the people, and fully support the extension of special autonomy in Papua.
The extension of special autonomy is an important schedule for 2021. President Jokowi has prepared procedures since early 2020, so that this program also repeats the success of autonomy volume 1. In addition to increasing the autonomy fund, socialization through cyberspace and the real world is also a way to make the process run smoothly.
After 20 years of privileging special autonomy, the Papuans did not reject the extension of this program. They have enjoyed various infrastructures built with special autonomy funds, such as the Trans Papua road and Sentani International Airport. So it is hoped that in volume 2 of the Special Autonomy, there will be more improvements in the lives of the citizens of Earth of Cendrawasih.
Papuan community leaders agreed to extend the special autonomy system. Ondoafi Enggros Tobati Jayapura City Herman Hamadi stated that the extension of special autonomy must be supported, because it has proven to make the people of Papua prosperous. This program is also useful so that development on the Earth of Cendrawasih will be more advanced.
Meanwhile, the traditional leader of Kampung Bagia Pir 3, Keerom Regency, Fransiskus Keerom, is of the opinion that Papuans should not reject the extension of special autonomy. Because this program boosts the progress of society. Also includes the central government's concern for the Earth of Cendrawasih.
The adat leaders supported the special autonomy because they saw it as a concern of the central government. Because since Indonesia's independence, new developments have been carried out in western Indonesia. After the special autonomy program, Papua as the eastern part of Indonesia was also built on a large scale, so that its infrastructure would be more advanced and the people would be smart.
Although otsus is widely supported, it still needs evaluation. The goal is for this program to be perfected, so that the funds can be absorbed directly into the community. So there is no longer a story of an area in Papua where people are starving when the harvest fails. Because the special autonomy funds are given not only for development, but also for agriculture education to farmers.
According to the traditional leader of Skori Village, Jayapura Regency, Demianus Kedubrung, the evaluation of the special autonomy program must be carried out so that it runs optimally. So that there is close supervision, which ensures that the funds are given on target. So far, he agrees that Otsus is useful, because it is useful for the health and education sectors in Papua.
Papuan children also get guarantees to go to school and study, even to campuses abroad. Scholarships from the special autonomy fund help them reach sky-high goals. Currently, the alumni of the special autonomy scholarship is Billy Mambrasar, who has successfully become President Jokowi's Special Staff from millennial circles.
In the process towards otsus volume 2, all community leaders in Papua agreed. They have felt the benefits of the special autonomy fund in education and others. Even though the autonomy volume 1 was successful, in the next period there must be monitoring and evaluation. So that this program can run even better.
