Pilkada administration must be civilized

The Election of the Merauke Regional Head must be carried out in a moral and civilized manner. Candidates must also be committed to fighting for the public interest.

"Pilkada does need to be implemented because our country is democratic. However, I am ashamed if the three Regional Head Candidates (Merauke) get into fights (get into conflict), ”said Bishop Mandagi.

The bishop reminded the regional elections only as a means of choosing the best leaders. Because of that, those who are declared losers must be tolerant, while the winners should not be too jagged.

"The General Election Commission (KPU) and Bawaslu (General Election Supervisory Agency) must also be consistent. They must stick to the rules, "he said.

Meanwhile, Bawaslu Merauke today received a dispute filing by the Lawyers Team of Herman Anitu Basik Basik-Sularso. This candidate nomination from the Golkar-Gerindra Coalition was previously dismissed by the Merauke KPU.

Bawaslu asked the legal team to revise the dispute request. There are some documents that have not been legalized. They give a limit of three days for the file repair period.

Member of Bawaslu Merauke B Tukedjo added that the submission of evidence in the election dispute is exactly like in the trial at the district court. "That's a law order. So, everyone must understand it (obey).
