New Normal, West Papua Provincial Government Holds Mass Rapid Test |
The West Papua Provincial Government is holding a free rapid test check on traders at Wosi Manokwari Barat Traditional Market. It is targeted that the rapid test will be followed by 2000 people.
"We targeted 2000 residents to take a rapid test. It all returned to the awareness of the elements of the community. They were asked to go to a medical officer, and conduct a self-examination to determine health conditions, whether exposed to COVID-19 or not," said West Papua Governor Dominggus Mandacan .
The West Papua Provincial Government continues to support district / city governments in West Papua to hold mass rapid tests as previously held by the West Papua Regional Police, at the Sanggeng Fish Market.
"The provincial government supports the regency / city government to conduct mass rapid test checks. Especially the green area, can hold a mass rapid test," he said.
West Papua Regional Police Chief, Insp. Gen. Pol Tornagogo Sihombing emphasized that the people of West Papua do not hesitate and are afraid of COVID-19.
"I ask citizens not to be afraid of this virus outbreak. Don't let us be stupid because they are undisciplined. The most important thing is that we fight this virus by complying with health protocols, wearing masks, washing hands with soap, keeping distance and obeying rules so as to avoid this virus, "specifically.
He said, this market is the fastest place to spread the virus because various residents come to shop here.
"So, ladies and gentlemen sell wearing masks, if not then the virus is spread into and lodged in the body. By using personal protective equipment it will be protected from COVID-19," he said.
A resident of Manokwari, Timo Dowansiba admitted that he participated in a rapid test to determine his health condition free from COVID-19.
"Thank you to the Governor of West Papua, and the COVID-19 task force team that conducted a mass rapid test. We hope that it will continue to be done to all citizens so that they are completely protected from viruses," concluded Andrias Mandopma after participating in a rapid test.
