Police Want All Its Members To Understand Human Rights |
All members of the police must understand what human rights are, especially for members of the police who work in the field and interact directly with the community. The Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brig. Gen. Argo Yuwono said, members must be able to understand about human rights. That's why we need a HAM pocket book.
"The name is that the National Police is a large institution, there are 450,000 members there. They must be able to understand about human rights. So we need a human rights pocket book and of course with this book their performance will be better than in previous years," Argo said at the National Commission HAM, Central Jakarta, Monday (17/2).
He hoped that the human rights handbook that was made with Komnas HAM could make the police performance better in the future, he would discuss further related to the human rights handbook with Komnas HAM. Because, this meeting was only held once.
"We still have further meetings. The point is that police officers in the field must know and understand human rights better," he said.
Previously known, the Indonesian National Police visited the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) on Monday (17/2). They came to Komnas HAM to discuss further related to the human rights pocket book. Because, later the pocket book will be given to all members of the National Police so that they increasingly understand the meaning of human rights in the community.
"Our first plan will be to renew the MoU and there is a joint plan to make a module in the form of a human rights pocket book which will later be distributed to all members in operational services such as Brimob, Sabhara, Traffic, and so on," said National Police Chief General Idham Azis at Komnas HAM, Central Jakarta.
