This man with the full name Claus Oscar Ronald Wamafma was born in Manokwari on June 23, 1973. Claus completed his education to a secondary level in Jayapura. He attended elementary school (SD) and junior high school (SMP) in Fakfak, West Papua. Then, continue high school (high school) Jayapura, Papua.

After that, he earned a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology. After completing his Bachelor's degree at ITB in 1998, in 2009, he completed the MBA School of Business program at ITB (in house program).

At Freeport Indonesia, Claus Wamafma has served as General Superintendent-Warehouse for three years starting from April 2008. He is responsible for developing warehousing and distribution to support mining operations.

Claus Wamafma's career climbed in 2011 after he served as Warehouse Management Manager. He carried out the mandate for eight years. He has the task of managing an operational warehouse with more than 120,000 items with an inventory value of more than US $ 350 million.

Claus Wamafma assumed the role of Vice President of Community Development since 2014 until finally being appointed director of Freeport Indonesia.

The appointment of Claus Wamafma as director of Freeport, according to Arya beforehand, proves that Papuan human resources (HR) are also able to fill strategic positions. "The government is indeed encouraging Freeport Indonesia to recruit Papuans. But the appointment of directors is carried out professionally, in accordance with the tasks they carry," he said.

According to Arya, the number of Freeport Indonesia employees reached 7,096 people. A total of 2,890 people or 40.72 percent of them are Papuans. The rest comes from outside Papua, both Indonesian citizens and foreign nationals.
