PLN Manokwari targets 90 new customers from the 'turn on the dream' program

PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, the Customer Service Implementation Unit (PLN UP3) in Manokwari, West Papua, is targeting 90 new electricity customers in the 'Light Up The Dream' program.

The head of PLN UP3 Manokwari, Roberth Rumsaur, in Manokwari, Friday, explained that the 90 new customers will enter the second phase of the same program.

"In general, in Papua the target is to reach 7,777 new customers, the number of which is adjusted to the age of PLN's 77th anniversary as well as a challenge for all units to realize it," he said.

Roberth said the program was also carried out to increase the electrification ratio and to give people the freedom to access electricity.

There are two units of PLN UP3 Manokwari that are currently running to find new customers, especially from the Customer Service Unit (ULP) in Teluk Bintuni Regency and Teluk Wondama Regency.

He stated that customers in the program to turn on the dream will not be charged any investment or installation costs. Customers will only pay the required electricity costs. "What is certain is that the new customer will have a prepaid electricity meter installed," he said.

The program is the idea of the PLN central office so that there is concern for the community. The program is run with funding from PLN employees on a voluntary basis, the amount of which is regulated according to rank.
