The Jayapura Regency Government builds a concrete pier to support Kampung Abar tourism



The District Government (Pemkab) of Jayapura, Papua Province through the local Transportation Service built a concrete pier in Abar Village, Ebungfauw District to support the development and progress of tourism in the region.

Head of the Jayapura Regency Transportation Agency, Alfons Awoitauw, in a press release received by Antara in Jayapura, Friday, said the tourism potential on the "Kambai Umbai" earth is very promising, so several villages have been designated as tourist villages, one of which is Kampung Abar.

"To support this, it is necessary to prepare good infrastructure so that our concrete bridges build bridges for basic infrastructure services," he said.

Abar is one of the tourist destinations of five tourist villages in Jayapura Regency which has pottery as raw materials.

So he said, for the development of tourism the Department of Transportation built a concrete pier in Kampung Abar in the hope of having a positive impact on the local community.

He explained that the construction of the concrete pier had been launched on September 15, 2022, marked by plugging the main pile.

"So while this is ongoing and all the villagers welcome the construction of the pier," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief of the Naftali Felle tribe said that the construction of the concrete pier had received approval from all parties.

"In the name of customs, the Church, the Government and the whole community, we express our appreciation and gratitude to the Jayapura Regency Government for paying attention to our village," he said.
