The Jayapura Regency Government trains indigenous Papuan children in telecommunications infrastructure

The Jayapura Regency Government, Papua Province through the local Communications and Information Office (Kominfo) will provide telecommunications infrastructure training for indigenous Papuan children in the region.

Head of the Jayapura Regency Communications and Information Office, Gustaf Griapon, told ANTARA in Jayapura, Saturday, that his party had collaborated with PT. Bisnis Sejahtera Infrastructure or IBS to provide training on the installation of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) devices which are currently being worked on at '"Bumi Kenembai Umbai".

He explained that the participants who took part in the telecommunications training were children living in villages in Jayapura Regency.

"So we will prepare as many as 20 to 25 Papuan children to take part in telecommunications training by IBS," he said.

Thus, his party hopes that Papuan children in the village can be involved in communication training which is planned to take place in early June 2022.

"We plan to start in June or July 2022, we will start with telecommunication training," he said.

A total of 3,409 BTS cellular towers will be built in Papua, while in Jayapura Regency there are 121 points.

Of the 3,409, there are 2,765 BTS 4G cellular towers, of which the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) will be assisted by two partners, namely the consortium from Huwaei and ZTE, said Gustaf Griapon.
