The Jayawijaya Regency Indigenous Community Institution (LMA) together with a number of traditional leaders in the Lapago region expressed their support for the New Autonomous Region (DOB) and special autonomy (Otsus) in Papua.
Representing a number of Lepago community leaders, the Head of the Jayawijaya Regency Indigenous Community Institution (LMA), Herman Doga said, DOB and Otsus are the central government's efforts in building the welfare of the Papuan people.
"So about the actions of rejecting the DOB and Otsus in Jayawijaya Regency, it is only the interests of certain groups, and they are not purely from the community," said Doga in a press release obtained by Tribun-Papua.com, in Jayapura, Thursday (26/05/2022). .
According to Doga, his party continues to support the implementation of new autonomous regions and special autonomy in Papua.
"We still defend the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), because our parents used to fight for entry into the Republic of Indonesia during the colonial period," said Herman Doga.
In addition, said Doga, in the near future his party together with community leaders from Lapago will make a declaration in Papua and West Papua for the support of the DOB.
"On behalf of the parents, we once again emphasize that we will continue to support the DOB to be carried out immediately, and we will make a declaration, because then we can live safely and peacefully," he concluded.
