TNI Major General Gabriel Lema accompanied by the Chairperson of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana (KCK) Region XVIII/Kasuari Mrs. Alin Gabriel Lema was officially accepted by custom and local wisdom by draping flowers, installing traditional hats and a plate stamping procession.
 
The Kasuari Military Commander along with his mother were greeted by Kasdam XVIII/Kasuari Brigadier General Djoko Andoko, Kodam officials, Manokwari Regent Hermus Indou and elements of the West Papua Forkopimda.
 
The arrival of the native NTT son in West Papua after officially serving as the Commander of the Kasuari Regional Military Command replaced the old official Major General TNI I Nyoman Cantiasa who is now in a new position as Pangkogabwilhan III.
 
"Today Major General TNI Gabriel Lema arrived in Manokwari, after receiving the position of Commander of the Cassowary Commander from Major General TNI I Nyoman Cantiasa in the handover ceremony led by the Chief of Army Staff (Kasad) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman, Monday (31/1), in Jakarta," said Head of Information for Kodam (Kapendam) XVIII Kasuari Colonel Arm Hendra Pesireron.
 
Beginning their duties in a new position, said Kapendam, all officials and soldiers of the Kasuari Kodam will hold a procession to pick up Major General TNI Gabriel Lema at the Kasuari Kodam Headquarters on Wednesday.
 
"It is planned that on Wednesday, February 2, there will be a traditional event to welcome the new Military Commander at Makodam XVIII/Kasuari," said Kapendam.
