Pastor Viktor cries when he tells the police action in Yahukimo




Congregation of the Evangelical Church in Indonesia (GIDI) Evan Hestia, Yahukimo Regency, Papua, thanked the Indonesian National Police for saving them from mass attacks last Sunday (3/10).

Pastor of the GIDI Congregation Evan Hestia Yahukimo, Pastor Viktor Kobak, said that the National Police and the TNI had saved their people from the riots that claimed lives.

On the sidelines of trauma healing activities, the provision of social assistance and health checks carried out by the Indonesian National Police-TNI, and the Binmas Noken Task Force Nemangkawi in Yahukimo, Saturday (9/10) Reverend Viktor expressed his feelings.

"I can only thank the police for saving our people. With this incident, we understand more that the Police are good to the community," he said.

"We cannot repay the kindness of the police officers. I can only pray that you will always be blessed in carrying out your duties, especially in Yahukimo Regency," he added.

Pastor Viktor added, as a form of gratitude to the Police and based on local customs, the people of Yahukimo Regency who fled their homes agreed to give a pig to the Yahukimo Police.

"We know that not all police officers eat pork. However, we hope that this form of gratitude can be accepted, because this is our custom and tradition," he said.
