The atrocities of terrorists in Papua who are members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) are again showing off.
A child was killed by shrapnel during a gun battle between the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Intan Jaya Regency, Tuesday (26/10/2021).
The Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes AM Kamal, in a written statement, revealed that the child was rushed to receive medical treatment.
However, there are no health personnel on site.
"Seeing the incident, the victim's family wanted to take the two sons to the Puskesmas, but there were no medical personnel so the victim was brought back home," said Kamal, Thursday (28/10/2021).
Because it was too late to get treatment, one child who was hit by the shrapnel of the bullet breathed his last.
The other children are still injured.
"It is known that the two children suffered gunshot wounds, one died and one was shot in the back," Kamal said.
The victim's family then reported the incident to the Sugapa Police.
Scratched while doing activities around the house. Kamal explained, the two children were hit by splinters when doing activities around the house.
At the same time there was a gun battle between KKB.
"At the time of the gunfight, two children were with their parents doing activities around the house, so they became targets of the Armed Criminal Group," said Kamal.
On the same day, a TNI member named Serka Asep also suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach during a gun battle with KKB in Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency.
Serka Asep is currently undergoing treatment at Mimika.
