Nestle Milo is ready to help publish Papua PON

Nestle Milo is ready to support the implementation of the Papua National Sports Week (PON), which will be held on October 2-15, with the help of publications and socialization of the largest national multievent through advertisements and other digital means.

The agreement was conveyed by PT Nestle Indonesia's Business Executive Officer Beverages Business Unit Mirna Tri Handayani at a virtual press conference on the Submission of Milo's Support for PON Papua 2021 in Jakarta, Thursday.

"The assistance that we will provide in PON Papua is in the form of Milo products, as well as (publications) through communication, both television and digital advertisements so that the spirit is not only in Papua, but throughout Indonesia," said Mirna.

The assistance, said Mirna, is Milo's commitment to support the government's efforts to create a generation that is active in sports.

He added that Nestle Milo is also committed to helping create a healthier and more active future generation of Indonesia, one of which is through the MILO ACTIV Indonesia movement. Through this movement, Nestle Milo consistently invites more than 30 million Indonesian children in 200 cities to participate in various activities, such as the MILO Football Championship, SIRNAS-MILO School Competition, MILO Jakarta International 10K, and MILO Indonesia Virtual Run.

“We are very proud to be able to support the implementation of PON in Papua. Hopefully this support can motivate the younger generation to love sports from an early age,” he said.

Head of Division II of the Papua PON Executive Board Roy Letlora in his written statement appreciated Nestle Milo's support.

"We hope to provide energy not only for athletes to be able to compete for championship titles, but also for the community, especially the younger generation of Indonesia to love sports as part of a healthy and active lifestyle," he said.

PON Papua will be officially opened on October 2. But a number of games have started earlier, such as men's softball and baseball.

In addition, there are also exhibition sports, such as esports, triathlon, wave surfing, and kick boxing.
