Electricity Infrastructure Development in Intim Reaches 48.07 Percent

The use of domestic components in the ongoing electricity infrastructure development in eastern Indonesia has now reached 48.07 percent of the 40 percent target.

The level of the domestic component (TKDN), is absorbed for large-scale projects in Papua and Maluku, such as power plants, transmission and substations.

The TKDN portion should not be less than 40 percent, the use of domestic products is intended to increase the growth of the domestic industry, so that it can encourage national economic growth.

"Our target is to provide reliable electricity supply for the entire community, but at the same time not neglecting the potential of the local component industry," said Director of Mega Projects and New Renewable Energy of PT PLN (Persero) Wiluyo Kusdwiharto, in a release received by the Siwalimanews editor, Thursday. (30/12).

This step is evidenced by the realization of PLN's TKDN until November 2021 reaching 48.31 percent or the equivalent of Rp. 37.92 trillion which was absorbed by the domestic industry, of the total realization of Rp. 78.5 trillion.

In addition, the production of components for transmission and substations is now fully capable of being taken over by local companies, however, for the components of generating infrastructure, the challenges are still quite large so that only part of the work can be carried out by domestic companies.

"In 2025, we are targeting an increase in TKDN to 60 percent," added Wiluyo.

Meanwhile, General Manager of PLN Maluku and Papua Main Development Unit (UIP), Reisal Rimtahi Hasoloan, added that the absorption of spending for domestic components in Papua and Maluku electricity projects amounted to IDR 635 billion from 21 projects in the construction phase.

The largest proportion is for the construction of power plants spread across the provinces of Papua, West Papua, Maluku and North Maluku.

"To ensure that the components imported to the project site are domestic products, we require all project work implementing partners to submit evidence in the form of invoices or POs (purchase orders)," said Reisal.

At the corporate level, PLN is also implementing a digital dashboard that includes PLN's e-TKDN. From this digital platform, it is easy to manage procurement and encourage local industries to participate in meeting PLN's needs and working together to achieve reliable electricity supply.
