Papuan separatist terror scares the public. Dozens of civilians who are still in the Kiwirok District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua have asked to be evacuated immediately.
Currently there are 17 civilians still in Kiwirok, after several people were evacuated.
"Two female teachers and a resident were evacuated to Jayapura on Wednesday (22/9) and have now gathered with their families," said Dandrem 172/PWY Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan.
One of the teachers who were evacuated was Purba, who had been on duty since 1999 in Kiwirok. He said he didn't want to go back to teaching in that area," said Dandrem 172/PWY Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan.
Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri said the TNI-Polri were ready to evacuate civilians who wanted to leave Kiwirok, Bintang Mountains Regency.
"The TNI-Polri are ready to help residents evacuate civilians who want to temporarily leave Kiwirok, after experiencing the terror carried out by the KKB," said Inspector General Pol Fakhiri.
He admitted that dozens of civilians in Kiwirok had not been evacuated due to transportation limitations. "The airport can only accommodate small aircraft and the weather often changes rapidly," he said.
He added that currently TNI-Polri personnel have been added and joined the personnel on duty at Kiwirok.
"However, in the future it will be added to restore security in the area," said Inspector General Pol Fakhiri.
He also admitted that many local residents had fled after the burning and persecution of health workers that killed Gabriela Meilan.
The KKB terror led by Lamek Taplo in Kiwirok caused five health workers to suffer injuries as a result of being mistreated and arrowed, four of whom are still being treated at the Marthen Indey Hospital.
The four health workers who are still being treated at Marthen Indey Hospital are Dr. Restu Pamanggi, Katrianti Tandila, Emanuel Abi, and Kristina Sampe Tonapa.
