The first 'gliding bicycle' outbound tour in Papua officially operates

The Regent of Jayawijaya, Jhon R Banua, inaugurated the outbound tourist attraction on a kite-bike at the natural tourist location of Goa Kontilola in Isaima Village, Usilimo District, Tuesday (21/12/2021).

According to a report from the Jayawijaya Regency Culture and Tourism Office, this outbound kite bike tour is the first in Jayawijaya and even in Papua.

For this reason, the Regent of Banua advised that the manager of the Kontilola Cave tourist attraction and this kite bike could take good care of it. What has been built by the local government, so that it can continue to be a source of income for the region and the community.

"This is the first time in Papua, so thank you to the Head of the Culture and Tourism Office and the staff who have made efforts to develop tourism activities in Jayawijaya," said Jhon Banua.

The Regent hopes that the management of this tourist attraction is maintained, both in terms of cleanliness, security, until the tariffs applied are affordable, so that it can become a tourist destination that is being hunted by the general public.

"The first key is security, if a tourist place is safe, anyone will come and it will return to ourselves, not only for the police and the TNI, where village heads and managers must ensure security," he said.

In addition, the regent also hopes that the fees offered to visitors are not too burdensome because there are those who can and cannot afford it, so the price must be regulated properly, which is the income for PAD and which is for the manager so that the balance does not burden the residents who want to come.

"Not a good place but the price is not affordable, lest there are no visitors," he said.

The Head of the Jayawijaya Regency Culture and Tourism Office, Engelbert Sorabut, said that this outbound kite-bike tour is one of the official programs in the 2021 fiscal year.

"In the tourist object of Goa Kontilola, kites are built, bridges are built, as well as tourist attraction signboards," said Sorabut.

Meanwhile, Ati Elosak, as the manager of the outbound bicycle laying tour, said the tariff set for tourists was Rp. 50 thousand per person for those who want to feel the sensation of riding a kite bike.

As for the parking fee and entry to Kontilola Cave, the tariff is Rp. 10 thousand per person and per vehicle, so one entry is Rp. 20 thousand to visit Kontilola Cave.

“In managing this tourist attraction, we involve youths around the location, old people, mamas. Because this is the first time in Papua, we are ready to take good care of it,” said Ati Elosak.
