The Head of the Central Mountains Tribe in South Jayapura District Bani Tabuni emphasized that Otsus (Special Autonomy) is a solution for the welfare of the people in Papua.
Bani Tabuni conveyed this affirmation regarding the rolling of the pros and cons of the extension of special autonomy among the people in Papua, some supported and some rejected.
"Otsus is a form of Central Government concern for Papua for the welfare of the people," he said when interviewed in Jayapura City, Saturday (31/10/2020) morning.
He also assessed that Otsus continues and needs to be revised in the interests of many people, not rejecting the extension of Otsus as suggested by some elements.
"Special Autonomy is a solution for the development of various sectors of public welfare. If you want to expect the APBN and APBD to be insignificant, in fact many areas are left untouched, especially in mountainous areas. Therefore, Otsus is the right solution to boost Papua's progress, ”he stressed.
This former member of the DPRD for two periods in Jayapura City also considers that a handful of groups rejecting Special Autonomy Volume II are suspected of being ridden by a group of unscrupulous people.
“They don't really understand that Otsus is very important. Maybe someone is suspected of using the community to reject Special Autonomy, "he said.
He also hopes that the government will be wiser in responding to the current dynamics related to special autonomy. Even Bani Tabuni hopes that Otsus Volume II can be revised later to be even more precise.
