Chairman of the West Papua DPRD Asks Residents to Maintain Security Ahead of the Pilkada

The Chairperson of the West Papua DPRD Orgenes Wonggor said, ahead of the simultaneous Pilkada, December 9, 2020, West Papuans are asked to maintain security so that the democratic party goes well. In West Papua Province, there are 9 districts that hold Pilkada simultaneously.

"Choosing who is the right of every citizen. Most importantly, please help the government by maintaining security and order so that West Papua does not enter into a vulnerable area during the Pilkada. It is hoped that everything will always be conducive so that the development program can run smoothly and successfully," said Wonggor.

Apart from maintaining security and order, Wonggor also asked residents to confirm whether they were actually registered as voters. "It must be ensured that they are registered as voters, so that they are not registered at the TPS," he said.

"People should not make the wrong choice of regents and deputy regents. It must be in accordance with their conscience because the toughest challenges in the next 5 years are for candidates for regents and vice regents when the current situation of Covid-19 results in a deficit economy," added Wonggor.

He also appealed to the public to take advantage of the Pilkada momentum. For him, the public must know the candidate pairs who can bring about change in the next 5 years. "Public participation to vote is very important. One vote can determine the choice in the next 5 years.
