The Regional Commissariat (Komda) for Catholic Youth of West Papua Province supports the holding of the 2020 Pilkada by following the health protocol rules. So, the five-year democratic party will not create a new cluster of the spread of the corona virus in West Papua.
The head of the West Papua Catholic Youth Commission, Yosepha Faan, said that all stages of the Pilkada must be carried out in accordance with health protocols. This is because the Covid-19 pandemic both in Indonesia and in West Papua has not ended.
"The Catholic Youth Commission supports the safe and healthy implementation of Pilkada," he said
He said that a safe and healthy Pilkada is a shared responsibility. Starting from the organizers, namely the KPU and Bawaslu, Pilkada participants, political parties that support and supporters and communities throughout West Papua.
"All elements must be committed to maintaining and complying with health protocol regulations," he explained.
He added that compliance with health protocols includes wearing a mask when outside the home, getting used to washing hands with running water and maintaining a safe distance when interacting with residents outside the home.
"Compliance with 3M is the best solution to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 during the Pilkada moment," he concluded.
