The Papua and West Papua Regional Main Unit PLN ensures that the electricity supply ahead of the XX National Sports Week (PON) in 2021 is sufficient. They claim to be able to support the success of the four-year sports event on Earth of Cenderawasih.
General Manager of the Papua and West Papua Regional Main Unit PLN, Abdul Farid, said that since 2018, his party has been preparing to support PON XX with the availability of electricity supply.
In order to make this happen, Farid admitted that his party was carrying out three important scenarios. The first is sufficient electrical power, then network reliability, and adding back up.
"There are several things that have been done, the first is related to the adequacy of generating power and currently it is sufficient. After that, the reliability was carried out by improving the networks, and currently in Jayapura City, cables are being rearranged so that it can be said that their reliability will definitely increase. And we also do back up in the form of a large UPS and also in the form of a mobile generator, so that with this scenario of course the supply will be reliable, "said Farid to reporters in Jayapura, Thursday (24/9/20).
In addition to these three scenarios, said Farid, his party will also implement an automatic system in the form of technology so that the operation transition will be designed automatically, as was done at the Papua Bangkit Stadium.
The General Secretary of PB PON Papua, Elia Loupatty, appreciated the steps that have been taken by PLN to take part in the success of the XX PON event in Papua. Elia said she was proud of the preparations that have been made by PLN so far.
"According to the percentage delivered by GM PLN, we have made PB PON very happy and also the people of Papua, because the electricity supply is sufficient and only needs to improve its reliability. We express our gratitude and we believe with the percentage presented by PLN, we have no doubts, and we hope that everything can run under control and PON can run smoothly, "said Elia.
