Bram Raweyai Builds Miracle School in Papua as a Form of Concern for Education

Through education being the main key towards achieving a better future, Bram Raweyai took the initiative to build a Play Group (PG) and SD Miracle School located on Jalan Cenderawasih SP 2.

"This Papua can come out of adversity because of education and this is my belief and it is the responsibility of what I have to make," Bram Raweyai told reporters last Friday.

Bram said that his presence in Papua, especially in Timika, was not only engaged in business but also concerned about HR in Timika.

"I make money and trade here. I must have a sense of responsibility by making this school, "he said.

He asserted that through the educational institution that was opened under the auspices of the Pondok Recovery Foundation (YPP) so it did not bring money out but how he contributed in this area by making this school. And this is part of his responsibility.

In the future, he said, not only Play Group (PG) and Elementary School, could be opened up to high school level, specifically hospitality schools.

"If high school, live practice can be here (Hotel 66) directly. Schools under the Pondok Pem Recovery Foundation, with cross subsidies, are able to ease the education costs of children who cannot afford it. So there are people who pay, but they are also free, "he explained.

While Hengky Puto, Chair of the Miracle School Recovery Foundation, when he was met at the school, claimed that the land of almost one hectare was a contribution from Bram Raweyai since 6 years ago to be managed and useful for others.

"It so happened that we needed a lot of conflict victims' children in Kwamki Narama and Jayanti. Initially there was a dance studio. Now from there with some church members, say that they need education, "he explained.

Since the beginning of educating OAP children, it has been quite difficult, but over time and the presence of non-Papuan students has influenced their personalities.

"In the past, we didn't even take a shower and we gave them a shower, but now because there are friends from other tribes who are already good, they are clean and smart," Puto said.

The school, which has obtained an official permit from the Education Office, has 16 teachers from the Teacher Certified Foundation. Students ranging from PG to 5th grade in Elementary School are 230 people, of which 70 percent are OAP students.

The excellence of this school, he continued in class one, was that he could read, write and count (3M) with an exciting learning method. This school also won several awards at various Olympic competitions.

For classrooms there are six classrooms available, although currently there are only class 5. Learning follows the official government curriculum.
