Gome community leader in Puncak District, Elvis Tabuni asked the Papua Regional Police Chief and the Cenderawasih Regional Military Commander to make it easier for children in Puncak District to enter the Indonesian National Police's selection.
He hopes that by making it easier for Papuan children in this selection, the opportunities for Papuans to become Indonesian National Police will be more open.
"The ease in the selection of the Indonesian National Police can provide opportunities for native Papuan children to serve the country, so that they can help secure security in their area, namely the Regency of Puncak," he said, Tuesday (7/21).
Responding to this, Commander of the XVII / Cenderawasih, Maj. Gen. Herman Asaribab said that on his chance to visit Ilaga several times, he saw that many local native children had ideal postures.
"After these children graduate from high school, we will recruit these children to become members of the TNI and Polri if they are interested," he explained.
Asaribab said that one of the objectives of the Kodim in Puncak was to help the complaints of the people of Kampung Gome, both in the fields of education, health, including complaints related to the selection of Puncak children to enter the Indonesian National Police.
Meanwhile, the Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw welcomed the wishes of community leaders so that the young generation at Puncak became the Indonesian National Police.
"Selection last year, there were no youths from Puncak District, there were only 3 people from Puncak Jaya Regency and in August 3 these people will enter education. We will definitely help young people in Puncak to pursue their goals towards more "Well, one of them makes it easier for children to enter the Indonesian National Police," he explained.
Paulus advised parents in Puncak District to continue sending their children to the golden generation. "Let the school children well to pursue their dreams and we believe the golden generation of Puncak will be created with a lot of good education too," he said.
