Thousands of Vehicles Ready to Support Papua PON 2020

The Papua Transportation Office will prepare 1,427 operational vehicles to support the XX XX PON National Sports Week or Papua Sports in October 2020. The vehicles will be used to serve guests and state officials, athletes, officials, as well as the PON 2020 Papua games or competitions.

Head of the Papua Transportation Agency, Recky Ambrauw, said that the PON 2020 supporting vehicles consist of 800 units of local vehicles. The prepared local vehicles consist of sedans and minibuses. Local vehicles will be used to serve state officials visiting the Papuan PON.

"For local vehicles, we will conduct a physical inspection and completeness of the letter. This means that only healthy vehicles with complete papers will be used, "said Recky in Jayapura.

Recky said, his party would also receive assistance from 627 aid buses from the Ministry of Transportation. The bus will only be used to deliver and pick up Papuan XX PON athletes and officials. Of the total 627 bus units, a total of 400 units will operate in Jayapura Regency and City. 130 bus units will be operated in Mimika Regency, and another 60 units will be used to serve athletes and PON officials in Merauke.

To avoid traffic jams, the Department of Transportation has prepared alternative routes for official vehicles of the Papua XX PON Grand Committee. The PON 2020 Papua Committee has involved the Police and the Papua Land Transportation Organization (Organda).

"We have made SOP, and it will be simulated in the field, bearing in mind that the vehicles that will pass the PON location are not only PON-related vehicles, but also public vehicles. In essence, don't just cause traffic jams," he said.

Papua Regional Secretary Hery Dosinaen, said that the Papua Provincial Government will free up local consumption and accommodation for all Papuan PON participants. According to him, this has been the commitment of the Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua since registering Papua as the host of PON.
