Responding to the shooting that occurred in Oksop District, Gunung Bintang District, Papua, Monday (2/3/2020). Wakapendam XVII / Cenderawasih Lieutenant Colonel Inf said the shooting occurred on a convoy of three trucks owned by PT Wijaya Karya that passed in the Bintang Mountains.

"They only fired disturbances only and carried out when the vehicle was speeding and did not stop," said Dax Sianturi, when contacted by telephone, Tuesday (3/3/2020).

Not yet certain perpetrators of the shooting. Dax admitted that there was a possibility that the weapons used were owned by the TNI carried by Heli MI-17 which crashed into a cliff in the Mandala Mountains.

"There is clearly a possibility that the weapons belonged to the TNI were brought by Heli MI17," he said.

Luckily, the shot did not hurt anyone. It's just that incident made the truck driver panic and one truck had an accident.

"As a result of the shooting there were no casualties. Only after they were intercepted, so approaching Oksibil the trauma driver might have been careless and there was a vehicle that overturned," said Dax.

The shooting action in the Bintang Mountains is a new thing, so that the culprit can be ascertained from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). Because the area is directly adjacent to Papua New Guinea (PNG). In addition there has also been a headquarters of the Free Papua Organization (OPM) which was once active.

"In the past along the border there was a Victoria headquarters whose center was in PNG. It was different from those in the central mountains. As far as I know, the Victoria headquarters was long inactive, so we are analyzing it too," said Dax.
