Community Assistance Is Very Important To Eradicate The Existence of KKB

Papua Police Chief Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw asked the community to join in the eradication of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in his area. KKB is the source of the riots, they often carry out terror shootings and various other violent actions.

"Without the help of the community it is difficult to feel these groups can be eradicated. If there are perpetrators of this violence milling around the community residence, please immediately conveyed to us," said Inspector General Paulus, Sunday, March 1 2020.

The Kapolda admitted that the KKB often intermingled with local residents so that it was not easily detected by the authorities. Even though the existence of the KKB in the middle of the community has the potential to endanger the surrounding conditions.

He gave an example, in Kenyam, Nduga Regency, the armed group entered the community but was not immediately reported. As a result the officers who came to secure the situation actually became victims.

"Our members took the fight to defend themselves and led to the shooting of several people, including one of our members," he explained.

Paulus also warned some parties not to distort the facts, as if the presence of law enforcement officers in Nduga Regency to commit violence against the local people.

"There is no right accusation that we want to make certain efforts, no. We were there to carry out law enforcement," Paul said.
