The Indigenous Peoples of Kampung Enggros and Kampung Kayo Pulau Jayapura City, Papua are ready to welcome participants in the VI Congress of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (KMAN) who will hold workshops at the two locations.
"The community is ready to wait for the arrival of KMAN participants who will come to the village and in terms of infrastructure it has also been very supportive," said Regional Secretary of Jayapura City, Papua Robby Awi when visiting the readiness of the local committee of KMAN VI in Enggros and Kayo Pulau villages, Saturday.
He explained that his party also together with the KMAN VI committee of Jayapura City had carried out community service in villages and urban areas to make the event a success.
"We hope that KMAN VI can run safely and successfully so that participants who come with happy hearts will also return to their respective villages in good health," he said.
Enggros and Kayo Pulau villages, which are located in Jayapura City, are also two locations that will be used as KMAN VI workshops on October 25-26 2022.
Meanwhile, the Head of Kayo Island Village Tommy Sibi said the local indigenous people were very ready to welcome KMAN VI participants.
According to Sibi, in addition to that, health services will also be on standby for 24 hours to serve KMAN VI participants who are in Kayo Pulau Village.
"So we have done all the preparations and we are ready to welcome the customary ambassadors who come to our village," he said.
