Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD emphasized that the appointment of Papuan Governor Lukas Enembe as a suspect in alleged corruption was not a political fabrication.
He ensured that the Enembe case was not related to political parties.
"The Luke Enembe case is not a political fabrication, it has nothing to do with political parties or certain officials, but is a finding and legal fact," Mahfud said at a press conference at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Office, Jakarta, Monday (19/9/2022).
Mahfud also revealed that Enembe was suspected of not only being involved in the Rp 1 billion gratuity case.

Based on a report from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), Enembe is suspected of managing money with an unreasonable value, which reaches hundreds of billions.
This value is the result of 12 PPATK analyzes that have been submitted to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"Currently, there is an account blockage for Lukas Enembe's account as of today, amounting to Rp. 71 billion which has been blocked, so it is not Rp. 1 billion," he said.

Previously, Deputy Chairman of the KPK Alexander Marwata revealed that the KPK had named Lukas as a suspect in a corruption case.
Alex confirmed that the determination of the Papua Governor as a suspect was based on sufficient evidence.
According to him, the KPK has examined a number of witnesses before naming Enembe as a suspect.
"Of course we already have enough evidence, we have clarified with several witnesses and we have also obtained documents that make us believe that there is enough evidence to identify a suspect," said Alex.
