The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has prepared a mini Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for the implementation of the government process in the 3 new provinces resulting from the expansion of the New Autonomous Region (DOB) Papua until December 2022.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri), John Wempi Wetipo during a visit to Merauke Regency to check the infrastructure readiness of the candidates for the South Papua Governor's Office, last weekend.

According to him, the mini APBD is also used for the inauguration and inauguration of the acting Governors of 3 new Papua provinces as well as the preparation of the 2023 APBD draft. next 2023.

"With the 2023 main budget, it will be prepared for the construction of the definitive governor's office, the definitive DPR office, and the definitive MRP office," said John Wempi Wetipo. The results of the construction of the provincial governor's office, the office of the Provincial DPR and the Papuan People's Assembly (MRP) led by the acting governor will be used by definitive officials.

The acting governor in carrying out his duties during the transition period is assisted by 1,000 State Civil Apparatuses (ASN) from approximately 22 of the first Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) formed.

"At the beginning, there will be the formation of approximately 22 OPDs that will assist the acting governor so that the government service process can run well," he explained.

"So that during the 2024 definitive governor election, the facilities built by the acting governor can be enjoyed by the definitive governor in running the wheels of government focused on the welfare of the Papuan people in the three new provinces," added the Vice Minister of Home Affairs.
