DPR Members Name Three New Provinces in Papua Are Fully Funded by APBN



Indonesia will have three new provinces, after the DPR ratifies the three bills for the establishment of a New Autonomous Region (DOB) in Papua.

Commission II member of the DPR, Guspardi Gaus, said that later the construction of the three new provinces in Papua would be fully funded by the State Budget (APBN).
 
"And it should also be noted, so the new new autonomous regions in Papua will be fully budgeted in the APBN, not the APBD," said Guspardi through a press statement monitored on the DPR RI Youtube, Tuesday (5/7).
 
He explained, usually new autonomous regions from other regencies, cities and provinces besides Papua, the development of new autonomous regions is budgeted in addition to the APBN but also APBD.

"Especially for new autonomous regions in Papua, they will fully use funds from the state budget," he stressed again.

As is known, the DPR has ratified the new autonomous region bill on June 30 through a plenary meeting which stated that there would be three new provinces in the Papua region.

Launching the official website of the DPR, in the process of drafting the three bills for the formation of the province, the capital city of each province has also been chosen.
 
South Papua Province with Merauke as the capital, Central Papua Province with Nabire as the capital and Papua Mountains Province with Jaya Wijaya as the capital. That means that soon Indonesia will have 37 provinces.
