The shootout incident that occurred in Maybrat Regency, Thursday, January 20, 2022, involved an armed criminal group with members of the Indonesian Army who were heading to the construction site of a bridge connecting Kamat village and Fankario village, which was asked by the local community to the XVIII Kasuari Kodam to build the bridge.
In the gunfight that occurred, as many as 5 members of the Indonesian Army became victims of which one member on behalf of Serda Miskel Rumbiak died from a gunshot wound to the right side of the abdomen. Meanwhile, 3 of his colleagues were critically injured and 1 had minor injuries.

George also reminded the public to remain restrained and not to be easily provoked by irresponsible issues, while providing information to the TNI/Police regarding the whereabouts of the perpetrators so that the perpetrators were immediately arrested.
Because according to him, this condition has happened twice in a very short time. Fighting for people's rights must go through the right path and not through casualties.
"It would be better if the community would help the security forces if they know the whereabouts of the perpetrators and what the motives behind this are, quickly arrest the perpetrators, the perpetrators will also be punished quickly," he continued.
